The Calgary Animal Rights Group

The Calgary Animal Rights Group held a series of protests against the Shrine Circus in May 2008. Animal rights extremists believe that no animals should be used for entertainment purposes. As always the protestors were confined to the sidewalk and not allowed to step on private property. Turnout was the usual 6 or 7. This protest did have some comic value however. One of the protestors got a little mouthy with security and was promptly wrestled to the ground and hand cuffed. The animal rights extremists over reacted (as they always seem too), phoned an ambulance and then the police. The hand cuffed protestor was released and no charges were laid. The ambulance then left as no one was hurt.

Do you think that this is the end of the story. No way!! One of the Shrine Circus people came out to the sidewalk and told the extremists that all the animals got held up at the border. They made fools of themselves one more time for nothing. Someone had forgot to tell these morons that there was no animals present at the circus. I am not making this up folks. This is a true story.

What is Voice for Animals trying to sell?

Voice for Animals is comprised of extremists who's view point is only a little off the beaten path. It would not what I would say to be "mainstream" The majority of the people in this country don't think and have the same values as the people in Voice for Animals. (good thing too) I believe in not being cruel to animals as well but these people have gone way beyond what most normal people believe.Below is a list I took off the Voice for Animals website:

1) Animals in entertainment-this would include circuses, rodeo's and zoos. Animal rights extremists do not believe in allowing us to see, touch or watch any animals. They want all zoos, rodeo's and circuses closed, period.

2) Sport hunting and fishing-they are demanding that fishing and hunting is to be outlawed. This really goes over well in Alberta here. If Voice for Animals doesn't like hunting and fishing, well that's just too bad because it's not going to change.

3)Animals in research and product testing- They are demanding that all research and testing using animals to be stopped. Though I also don't like testing using animals, I do realize it does save lives.

4) Fur production-I thought the fur business was a thing of the past. There are very few people wearing furs today. Voice for animals should work on this one because it's pretty much a dead issue. (no pun intended)

5) Companion animals-they changed the name of pets to companion animals, I guess it sounds better. I agree in the well being of our pets and it would be rather nice if Voice for Animals actually did something to help them out.

6) Factory farming and vegetarianism-I am not even going to touch any problems with farming in Alberta, if they don't like it, tuff beans. And now we get around to discussing vegetarianism. Well it goes like this...I like a good steak so quit your complaining. Why are they trying to convert me from my heathen ways when I like being who I am. Go away and peddle that shit somewheres else

No Animal was harmed during the writing of this blog

Whenever I visit the Voice for animals website, I often wonder how much damage do they cause to the animals they believe their helping out. They make themselves out to be people running on the last 3 working brain cells. Instead of preaching to us meat eating heathens to but down our forks and pick up the tofu, why don't they spend some quality time actually helping out.

Alberta is in desperate need of cat shelters. Though there is no way of getting an accurate count of how many stray cats their are in the province, but no doubt it's in the 10's of thousands. Voice for Animals would be much more respected if it opened a no-kill cat shelter. It's a service that is desperately needed. Instead, Voice for Animals wants to outlaw fishing and hunting.

A education program geared towards children explaining the value of spaying and neutering our pets would just be wonderful. Instead, Voice for Animals wants the kids to stop drinking milk.

What about bringing in pets for the children in the local hospitals? Another very worthy and honorable cause. Instead, Voice for Animals attacks the Shriners Hospitals for sick Children. Now who is really sick??

There are so many ways a group like Voice for Animals could help out in the province. Voice for Animals could use a big injection of humanity, or perhaps compassion. In their zeal to promote extremists views, they seem to forget that we are all human. (or do they really care??)

It's such a pity that Voice for Animals chooses to follow the "dark side of the force" voice for animals takes care of themselves and not any animals.

Voice for Animals attacks shriners

March 9/2008--Once again Voice for Animals was protesting outside the Rexall Place where the Shrine Circus was being held. Not happy with only protesting the one day, they just had to come back and protest the second day as well.

The Shrine Circus is a charity event held once a year to help raise funds for the Shriners Children's Hospital. Way to go Voice for animals, you are protesting against a good group of people (Shriner's) trying to raise funds to help out sick children. Can Voice for animals stoop any lower then this?? In Voice for animals eagerness to force feed us more of their propaganda, they forgot to look at who they were protesting against.

Now why can't they go and protest the big oil companies who earn lots of profit rather then a children's hospital??

The Shrine Circus is in town!!

The Shrine circus is in Edmonton, Alberta on March 8/2008. I have little doubt that Voice For Animals will be there as well. They will be all dressed up in their cute little bunny costumes waving their signs in your faces. Why are they there?? Voice for animals job here is to sell you on their philosophy and lifestyle. To try and convince you that eating meat is bad and having animals for our entertainment is wrong. This sales pitch is most effectively done with outrages behavior.

Without even being there and seeing the animals, I can make a guess that they are well looked after. The Shrine Circus does not mistreat their animals. This is a quote from the Shrine Circus:
"We'll continue to entertain thousands of children from Edmonton, central and northern Alberta. The animals are well taken care of. We've never been charged by the Edmonton or Alberta SPCA." One Edmonton City Councillor accused the activists of engaging in "misleading propaganda."

"Tove Reece of Voice of Animals, one of the groups supporting the proposed ban, told The Edmonton Journal that the vote was a "huge loss for animals" and urged people not to go to the circus." It's not the circus that Tove Reece doesn't like, it's the performing animals. She believes that all animals are to be left alone, no interaction between people and animals, period.

Would I be so bold to inform Tove Reese who the shriners are?? You know, the fine people who help sick children !! Run the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Promoting a good future for Guzoo

Excerpts from a facebook group Promoting a good future for Guzoo

I e-mailed Kirsten McD to see why the cat shelter was closed. The shelter was in a used book store and that wasn't good enough for animal rights people. Yes, I am sure it wasn't a perfect place. Yes, I am sure more and better could be done. But was it?? Was it the right choice to shut it down?? Animal welfare people seem to be more the "hands on" type to me. Would not the right choice have been to ask them "what can I do to help out" "Or allow me make a donation." Why is it with animal rights people that so many of their decisions are to the extreme. It will never be a perfect world.

Here in this group we seem to have two different sides. The guzoo bashes who are comprised of mostly animal rights people, want guzoo closed (even though they claim not too), and the Guzoo supporters who are comprised mostly of animal welfare people. The guzoo supporters want it left open and are willing to put their time and money to see that it does.

The cat shelter in my little town is the art framing shop. I would never have the nerve to demand that they close, even if it's not perfect. Beside the point of not being any of my business, they are doing the best they know how. If my cat shelter closes, just like Kirsten's did, what are we going to do here with stray cats now??

Animal rights extremists live their whole lives in extremes. Many eat no meat,no fish, no dairy (that means no cheese for the pizza), no wool socks and no leather shoes. Animal rights extremists will go to great lengths to try and brainwash you into following their ways and beliefs, just like a cult does. Animal-rights activists believe that animals should be completely separate from people. Their goal is to make sure that the we have absolutely no access to animals, no matter how important they may be for our survival and progress. In contrast, the people who are doing the most to promote animal welfare today are the very ones that the animal rights movement wants to put out of business. (Guzoo)

Check out the link below. It is newspaper article about animal rights extremists that dug up a dead body to hold for ransom till a farmer stopped breeding guinea pigs. The body was never recovered.
